We CAN Help The Albatross

Suggestions For YOU.
1. REUSE AND RECYCLE. Make sure you are properly recycling your plastics, and cut down on your amount of plastic by reusing them as much as possible.
2. Instead of buying plastic bottles, buy a reusable metal water bottle.
3. Buy reusable metal lights (zippos, etc.). Or, quit smoking! It's bad for you anyways
4. Cut down on sodas, teas, and other drinks in plastic containers. The bottle caps are not usually recyclable. If you must, buy them in aluminum cans!

Reduce, Reuse, Recyle

What's Being Done
Long line fishing and net fishing are both facing strict legal confrontation. Also, fisherman are realizing their catch will be higher if they make an effort to prevent catching albatross. Most are now letting their baits thaw, so that they will sink out of reach from the birds.

Convincing literature on the effects of lead contamination are creating movements to get the beaches cleaned and the ships + buildings removed. Read about the most recent steps being taking here: Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge

  1. I would suggest in here you also write little bit about "why do we care?". Deniz A.

  2. It's great that you made suggestions that people can enact in their everyday lives. You don't have to become a volunteer or donate money to make a difference for these guys.
Maybe you can mention here some of the campaigns and efforts that are currently out there, and what they're doing.

  3. I like that you have the bit about how fishermen are trying not to catch albatross because a lot of the time they don't want bycatch since fishing laws have tightened up about that (like with dolphin bycatch and how the fishermen were the ones to come up with the most effective solution) also it is good that you have sections for each threat section. maybe to expand on the lead section add links to the literature and possibly links to sites of organizations that are working to clean the beaches so that people can check it out and try and help with that too?? good work though!! dig the list of what we can do
